In order to unify we must begin with Reconciliation in Christ. Reconciliation is the healing of broken relationships. Unity is the working together of many members in these restored relationships. This is what the scripture in Acts 17:28 is referring to when it says, 26. And he hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27. That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28. For in him WE live, and move, and have OUR being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
To be restored to this oneness and unity we must walk through the process of reconciliation recorded in 2 Cor 5:14-18
2Co 5:14 For the love of Christ constrains us (hold us to together); because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Reconciliation has 3 phases: # 1. It requires us getting a revelation of the Love of God. 2 Cor. 5:14-18 begins by saying It’s the Love of God that constrains us (holds us together).
#2 Reconciliation then requires us becoming a new creation in Christ, and no longer seeing Christ after our own image, but US in HIS image,
#3 We are to live out of our new nature submitting our flesh to this new nature, realizing that 2 Corinthians 5:16 says, therefore, know no man after the flesh, even as we no longer know Christ after the Flesh.”
Those that make that paradigm shift to live out of their new nature are given an actual ministry, called the ministry of reconciliation, reconciling humanity to God, and humanity to itself (one another).
We must submit our flesh, our ethnicity to Christ, as well as what we’ve been through, what has happened to us and why. It all must be submitted to Christ. We must die to us and become New in him 2 Cor. 5:14-18. When we become New in him He will make sense of all we’ve been through and WHY, giving to us our purpose in him and then giving to us the ministry of reconciliation….
